Indrayani

Indrayani is a variety of rice especially grown in the Maval region of Pune District. This rice has a typical, pleasing aroma that doesn’t exist in any other variety of rice. The Indrayani was developed with ambemohar parentage and released in 1987. It was developed by the Rice Research Centre near Lonavala. Today, Indrayani has replaced Ambemohar in almost all paddy fields in the area.
